Places Traveled

This is a page with a list of places my wife and I have visited on our travels, as well as pictures and some information on each destination. Hope you enjoy, feel free to share, leave comments or email me.

The Amalfi Coast

My wife and I visited the Amalfi coast during our honeymoon in Italy. We stayed in Sorrento but we visited several different towns up and down the coast and explored a different place everyday. The view was beautiful and swimming in the Mediterranean felt amazing. The water was crystal clear and the weather was great. At night there is plenty to do and although its a little touristy there are plenty of great restaurants on the main strip in Sorrento. Buses and boats run continuously from town to town so its easy to get from place to place and see some great sights. Just a warning, the faint of heart should not take the buses they drive extremely fast. Overall we had a great time and I am determined to go back one day.

Paris

My wife and I where extremely blessed to be able to spend our 1st anniversary in the city of love. I loved this city, we got to see so many things I would need pages and pages to mentioned them all. The churches are amazing, the architecture is beautiful and if you enjoy visiting museums this city needs to be on your bucket list. My favorite things we have seen here have to be Notre Dame and the Musee d'Ordsay. I love visiting churches, being a christian myself it is a spiritual experience. The architecture alone is awe-inspiring. The atmosphere in the Notre Dame is extremely reverent, from the beautiful stained glass to the massive organ to the scenes depicting Christ's life this church is a must see. They also have a cool exhibit for those into engineering and architecture (like myself) that shows how and when different parts of Notre Dame where built. We got to visit several museums including the Louvre, the Pompidou and the Musee d'Orsay. The Musee d'Orsay was my favorite mainly because the exhibits of the impressionist era, I have always enjoyed impressionist paintings especially Van Gogh. Seeing the paintings in real life gave me a whole new appreciation for them and inspired me to get out the old moleskin and write some lyrics and poems. The paint strokes lend the paintings a 3d aspect, the longer you look at them the more they seem to come to life right before your eyes and the colors stir all sorts of emotions within you. The food we ate while we where here was mostly simple but delicious. Where we stayed was on a street with lots of bakeries so we had fresh baguettes every day, we found a local deli where we bought the most delicious cheese and the best butter I have ever had. Every morning for breakfast I had a fresh baguette with Nutella and coffee. I actually got to try beouf tartare which was delicious (just make sure the restaurant you order it from is highly reputable, this is raw meat we are talking about). I also had the best french onion soup, one of my favorite dishes, of my entire life. We sub-let a flat for a week from a very nice gentleman that rents flats to people on holidays. I definitely recommend this over staying in a hotel it was affordable and allowed us to be immersed in the local architecture and scenes that seem to be right out of a movie. We got to stop here for an evening during a layover on the way back from our honeymoon during which we put a lock on the famous love lock bridge near Notre Dame, on this trip we got to visit our very own lock exactly 1 year later. All in all the city was extremely inspiring artistically and  I wrote a lot of good stuff while I was here.

London

Our new home! This city is great and we love living here. There is so much to do from sight seeing, to entertainment, to food and pub life to just walking the streets and taking the city in. The music scene here is really cool especially in Camden. So far we have visited some really cool pubs, seen the famous sights and met some really cool people. Even the musicians busking on the streets and in the tube stations are amazing. I will be continuously updating this part of the page as we find new and exciting things bout the city while we are living here.
